Let me begin by saying I'm not sure how this is considered a four star hotel. I have managed a 3 star hotel in the U.S. and the cleanliness, customer service, and amenities were light years ahead of this hotel. First of all a four star hotel should have free coffee whether in the lobby or a little coffee maker in the room. This hotel did not. Secondly, the room did not feel clean. Anyone who has stayed in hotels knows exactly what I'm talking about. Thirdly, they were very stingy with almost everything. I stayed 5 days and constantly had to ask for towels (would only give 2 at a time and never any hand towels). The guy at reception looked at me weird when I asked for plastic cups on more than one occasion. I mean it's Cancun I'm going to be drinking in my hotel room and I need cups. You would think they would give enough toilet paper to last more than 3 days but that's another thing I had to ask for. The best thing I can say for this hotel is the bathroom. The shower especially was very nice and as was the rooftop pool area. Next time I will pay more to stay in a resort in the hotel zone.
