This was one of the best Vacations I have ever enjoyed in Mexico. The resort is wonderful, about 2 hours from the Cancun International Airport. You can never go wrong with an all inclusive hotel. The staff were very helpful and the food was great. Absolutely Recommended.

This was a great resort for our 1 week stay, excellent staff and service. Only they had less option in veg food which was a challenge. Overall it was an awesome experience. I definitely recommend to stay here.

The buffet catering is world class!I mean really world class, if you don't consider the food an important aspect of your vacation experience then skip this review because that's my focus here. I am a fully qualified head chef myself and have worked in 5 star hotels in England. I have also been to at least 10 other 5star all-inclusive resorts in Europe, Africa, the UAE and the Caribbean prior to visiting here.Grand Bahia Principe Coba is by far the largest resort I have visited and this fact alone would lead you to expect it to have a buffet which exceeds the size of others I have seen but really, I haven't had a buffet dining experience which comes anywhere close to what they lay on here. I expected big but big doesn't even begin to give credit to the scale of choice available to you when you go to the buffet hall. There must be at least 100 different options, of which at least 50 are different every day and the quality of the food is of a very good standard. A standard that I would be proud of if I was responsible for it on only a fractional scale. To maintain the standards they do on the scale they do is commendable. I hope they pay their exec head chef very well because trust me he deserves it.And the Christmas gala buffet that they layed on during my visit (2019) was on another level, the quality of which was up to scratch with any hotel buffet you would find here in the UK. I remember eating roast rib of beef, chateaubriand, the largest shell on shrimp I've ever seen, sushi and sashimi, dauphinoise potatoes to name a few things (all of great quality). I hate to think the value of food that was consumed that evening by the entirety of resort guests, I doubt the exec chef met his budgeting targets for that week🤣. The only thing I think they could have done better that night was the wine choice. Didn't really have any variety inclusive, just red or white. Which if you are into your wines is arguably poor planning considering the setting. There were (as there was every day) an additional cost to the wine list, should you care what wine you are drinking. I felt as though they could have at least had a few grape varieties on offer other than just a chardonnay and a cab sav.As for the A la Carte restaurants on the site, which i usually find the best place to eat in all-inclusive resorts, I was generally not impressed. To be quite honest, with the exception of the Brazilian resteraunt, there just wasn't really anything which felt to me was worth pulling you away from the amazing buffet. The staff were all very pleasant and gave good service, the decor and ambiance in each one (there are 6 in total) was nice, appropriately and authentically themed and the menus were written in such a way that made it clear the exec chef had a very good, eclectic knowledge of international cuisine. However they all failed to deliver a restaurant experience, on several levels, To speak generally, the logistics of trying to operate in an efficient manner and to cope with being fully booked every night, which they were, is not easy and I appreciate that but it's not good when operational efficiency directly harms the guest experience. I would love to explain how I feel they could improve but this isn't the place for that.If the managers wish to know how I feel they fall short here please contact me directly and I will happily go into details. Great family oriented resort. That still offers high class drink service and food for the parents. Lots to do for everybody. To many amenities to count. Book this trip with peace of mind that you are not going to regret it

I went there in Feb with my best friend. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left... we had an amazing time. The staff are amazing. The food is great! The entertainment is awesome. The pools are nice. The drinks are great. The trolleys are always there. The beach was beautiful. You have access to Coba and Tulum. There is vendors within the resort, there is a club, live entertainment outside, its great for families and for just friends. There was more families on the Coba side, BUT they have a 24 hour snack bar which is amazing... the gym is around there. We spent time at Coba, Tulum, and the area with the club, vendors, live entertainment. I would say this resort serves all purposes. You can go with just your spouse, or a group of friends, or take the family. Whatever and whom ever comes... you'll have fun!!!! We always had water in our rooms, the rooms were always clean. There is a person in the lobby who can help plan your outing and arrange everything. Ill be back :)
