Beach was decent, but the main issue was that once in the water it was ROCKS, ROCKS and more ROCKS. we couldn't get out deep at all without walking on sharp rocks. There was debris in the water due to back to back hurricanes. We pulled out 2 different large boards with nails in them. The pools were freezing cold and we had to be out of them by 8pm. Due to pandemic only a few restaurants were open which is understandable to due to staffing, but the meals were very sub par. Pizza place while having a wood fire was like a frozen pizza, Tapas was good one night and terrible the next. Caribbean place was only place for breakfast and we went every morning and had issues every day (6 day stay) whether it was forgetting items, not offering refills of coffee or juice, cold food. The dinner experience at this place was equally as bad as food lacked taste and jerk chicken was terrible excuse. Mexican place was good experience as the fish tacos were good and the Italian place worked with me to propose to my now fiance. Room service was hit and miss too as it would be good and hot one night and cold and wrong order next. Due to short of staffing the ability to do things at the resort was very limited. The few staff they did have while polite were at times not knowledgeable of things at resort. A few bright spots were Enrique the server was funny and very in tuned to customer service. Alejandro at the front concierge was great with helping us prepare to leave. The spa treatment was very good and polite and friendly staff, but over priced. We did book a catamaran excursion, but we were not informed that it would be 8 hrs and that there would be so many people on the boat. If you have questions about staying here or another resort my advice is to pay the extra and stay at another place.
