I did not stay here, This is referring to the customer service aspect** My husband Ryan wrote a review of how we are being toyed around regarding our refund for our wedding that was supposed to take place in April 2020. The Canadian government closed the borders within 2 days of paying. We were also told at that time that we had a small window to cancel the wedding otherwise the money would be lost. We begged for our money back. They said no for a long time. After point out some imperative information in our contract, we were promised our money back $8835 not including our $500 deposit. We agreed to that in November 2021. It is not April 2022. This is over 2 years since we initially paid! When my husband wrote his review, someone said they would look into it. That was a few weeks ago now and he has still not heard anything. I am looking for opinions of others. Do we need to get the authorities involved? Can anyone provide me with the direct contact for senior management with Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda? I am sick of dealing with the resort as they have made it extremely difficult to get any answers and made it clear that we are the lowest priority. I have a friend that does reviews of hotels on YouTube, should I also get them involved to go to the resort directly?

This hotel is a dump! Smell of sewer in a lot of places. Wholes in walls, showers broken with no hot water, door handles falling off, dirty windows and floors, fridge is missing most of the items. Paint peeling all over this failing properly with dirty fountain. Room’s cleanliness is left to be desired. The chairs in buffet area are dirty as well , so are the napkins and utensils. Over all the hotel is In dire state of repair and cleaning- outdated and absolutely is not 5 stars. …maybe 1 ! Asked to change the room but out of 1000 rooms they couldn’t find 2 rooms in a good w condition. Found one …just one degree better Wanted to upgrade the room to make expensive and they had no rooms available or In working condition. I do want to say one nice thing about an employee named Aldo. He was very professional and tried to rectify the situation. First day here and vacation is ruined. However, I’m still waiting for the fridge to be restocked

Though we had a great time and our overall experience was enjoyable at this resort, it did feel a bit like it had its "glory days" in the past. To be fair, if this is your first time to vacation at an all-inclusive beach resort, you'll probably be thrilled and have an amazing time. BUT.. if you're an experienced resort hopper, you might be let down. The food was mostly mediocre, though there were a few better offerings on occasion. The resort itself felt very spread out - lots of long walk commutes (but there are "golf cart" shuttles making rounds that you can jump on). One big disappointment is the actual view from the beach. At this moment, at least, there are large dark/ugly barriers placed out in the water along the entire resort area, which dash all hopes of gazing out over unbroken crystal clear blue ocean views. You're still at the beach with sunshine, sand, palm trees and water, but frankly it was not the post card view most people will expect to see (I've included a pic) after traveling to Mexico for that big "AMAZING" moment. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and mostly attentive, the pool areas are nice, and of course, you're still on a beach in Mexico. 🙂 Once is enough for us on this one, however.

Almost everyone tries very hard. Members do pay a little extra but get treated Extra well Special thank you to Erin and Nancy concierge help you check in and really care to answer questions and get details important to you as best they can Also suuuuper wonderful Joel and Andres BEYOND helpful at the bar. Even forgot my money to tip and they treat you amazing regardless. Watched them being extremely helpful to EVERYONE The people make you feel like welcome guests in your home. (Suggestion to management when places are out of circle one special dinners maybe have an alternative as it is stressful on staff when customers express dissatisfaction. Just gives them something to help keep excellent treatment). Obviously no experience is perfect but this is a great value in our opinion

My stay at Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda was nothing short of fantastic. I visited in Nov 2020 during the pandemic, they ensured to keep the place sanitized and safe. The service I received was really great. I really enjoyed the food, it was some of the best resort food I’ve ever experienced. The beach was also very nice, I spent a lot of time relaxing on a beach chair with a book in hand. One of my favourite parts of this resort was the bar by the beach which uses swings for seats. So cute! If you’re looking for a quick getaway and the prices look right, don’t miss out on booking this place. I definitely would recommend!
