I had the misfortune to book Copala for an extended stay (> one month). While it has merits for some (golfing, quiet), it was certainly not the resort for myself and my wife. To begin with, we should start with the location and mobility. Zero… Pueblo Bonito proper is about a 15 minute drive down the hill to Cabo, through horribly paved streets and countless speed bumps which I’m sure the Mexican government invented to keep all the auto repair shops in business. Once You are in Pueblo Bonito, you have another 12 minute drive to Copala. Once in Copala, you have two dining options- a clubhouse which is under renovations, or a pool bar. From the pool bar, two sandwiches and two caddy margaritas cost us $87. The beach is a 20 minute walk downhill, which of course you have to go back up.Say you would like to go somewhere, affordably? Reserve a Copala van which will begrudgingly take you to the main gate. The older gentleman will actually ask you for a tip. And the process for the van is as follows: it runs once an hour on the :30s. However if you don’t call it, it won’t come. Or if it’s too full, it won’t come. Sometimes the number you call might be busy. Another option is to email. But sometimes they don’t check the email. So in my case I called and got a busy signal. So I emailed an hour and a half early for a 6:00 reservation time. They didn’t show. Or you are in deep trouble if you try to visit Pacifica or Sunset Beach- they REFUSE to take you to the main gate. Their shuttles go only to the resort. You have the option to pay a taxi $10 to take you 2 minutes up a hill from Sunset Beach-laughable. The won’t allow Uber’s inside because the taxi companies and resorts and bellhops have a payoff system. But I digress. Back to the simple example that they have actually shown up for you in Copala and taken you to the main gate. You can’t call an uber early, because of no cell signal. So you walk another 5 minutes downhill out of the gate and call the uber. Voila- 10 more minutes and you’ll be in Cabo! You would want to be in Cabo because you are sick of the disgusting food that is served for the all-inclusive people. And you’d really be angry that you paid so much to have that kind of morning the next day. So go to a Cabo restaurant and experience the kind and hospitable people Mexico is known for. Because you wouldn’t have that at Copala. We’ve stayed at countless places in Cabo and across Mexico, and have never experienced a more disgruntled staff than at Pueblo Bonito. As my experience was so sour, I love to discuss this with locals. They all agree that PB sucks as an employer and dumps staff every season. They pick up cheap seasonal workers from other places so you never have anyone who knows or cares. Have you had the experience of staff saying hello as you pass, maybe even a touch on the heart? Won’t happen here. Ever had staff go out of their way to move for you? Not here. Or what if there was some problem and someone said “let me see what I can do”? NOT HERE. The answer is always and invariably NO.Oh, and nowhere in Cabo besides one pizza place delivers to Copala. Try ordering from the marketplace at Sunset Beach…good luck- you’ll have to be told no and transferred three times to get a yes, and then they’ll deliver the wrong food with a 15% service charge plus tip. This place is a joke. My view was nice though.

Excellent resort with one big drawback, transportation. If you aren’t bringing a car on the property, plan on being held hostage to the infrequent shuttle service. And due to a crooked deal with the taxi company, they will not let Uber in to pick you up. We were also 30 minutes late to a 6am fishing trip because the concierge forgot to reserve a taxi. The captain was upset and it ruined our $1800 fishing trip. Uber is $2-$3 dollar trip from downtown to Copala, but the taxi from Copala to downtown is $20-$25. See the problem?

This resort out of all the resorts I've visited.. it has truly taken my breath away. From the staff to the spas to the breath taking views. Los Cabos really out did there self's with this one. I will absolutely be back personally for a future trip. And would recommend this spot to any one looking to get away.

Rented a house through Airbnb and just loved this community. My family and I felt welcomed and had a great time. All the amenities that we had access too were awesome and the views were breathtaking. Definitely will be going back when we can.

Found this on AirBnB and it was truly amazing! We had a 2Bedroom 2Bathroom with full kitchen and an amazing view.-We called ahead and arranged a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the airport for $25each.-While on the property, they have a shuttle van service that will take you to all the sister properties nearby. While the shuttles are free, you have to call for one every time you need one and they can take up to 15min.-We used Uber to go to the grocery store. Ubers are very cheap, taxis can be very expensive-There’s an app you can download to view all the food options with each sister property. Some dinner spots require reservations and some are much more expensive than others. Generally, the food is really good! We took an Uber to the grocery store, La Comer, which was very inexpensive and they had everything you need. I highly suggest checking the kitchen first so you don’t re-buy things that are in the pantry.-Calls and texts are free, however cell service can be iffy sometimes-Our room came with smart TVs with Netflix & Amazon Prime already loaded-Copala has a cinema room that you can book out (with Netflix)-There were several pools beautiful at Copala-You can only swim at certain beaches in Cabo due to the intensity of the ocean waves-They allow tipping, but the restaurants and stores don’t take cashStaff was great, very friendly! Highly recommend.
